The real exam
- Official pass mark
- No fixed published pass mark. CMT Association says Levels I and II once had a fixed passing score of 70% of possible points, that 70% is still the default target, and that the actual cut score may vary after a post-exam psychometric review. Results are reported only as Pass or Fail.
- Outline
- 2026 CMT Program Guide, Level I (file v2026.03.20, cover dated "Current March 5, 2026"), used for the 2026 exam administrations; no 2027 guide published as of 2026-10-19
- Navigation
- Flag questions and review them before you submit, as on the real exam.
We score all 132 questions against a flat 70% line, while the real exam scores only 120 and can move the cut score after psychometric review. Level I has no scheduled break: at a test centre an unscheduled break is allowed but the exam clock keeps running, and the remote-proctoring FAQ says Level I candidates cannot take a break at all. CMT Association does not say in writing how navigation works on Level I. We allow free movement, as on the single section of Levels II and III.
